Have you ever dreamed of writing a book? I’ve just finished mine and used one technique above all others to bring my ideas to life: Journaling. At 4:30 am every day, I get up and write. No praise, no feedback. Just me and my journal.
Journaling every morning firstly helps me clear the muddy waters of my mind when I wake up. If a thought is on the paper, it can’t be lingering around in my head. There’s a spiritual aspect to it too, as the writing often connects me deeper to my faith.
I want to write something great. The only way to do that is to write.
For any aspiring authors or creatives, journaling is a great way to make writing part of your regular process.
You could journal on:
1) Your intentions for the day, and visualizing how it will go
2) What you’re grateful for that’s coming up today
3) A problem you’re having
Often I find that simply writing will help your brain connect ideas in ways you didn’t otherwise see. It’s both eye-opening and essential for me.
